So, this is more of an information collection, than a discussion topic, but what do you think about other countries mythology? What are the most unique?
You so often see authors saying they were inspired by Christianity or Norse/Greek Mythology, but what others do you think would be good?
I want to expand my historical horizons and leane about different cultures that aren't often written about or discussed. Japan, for example, has always been one of my favorite mythologies to learn about.
They have a wholly unique approach to spirits and demons than the entire West, since their culture was inspired by many of the teachings of Buddhism.
Spirits are related more closely to physical things of nature sucha s rivers or trees. When displaced or disturbed, they will cause damage or harm to humans. In the West, we think of ghosts as evil, malevolent spiritual creatures who decide to haunt us for the sake of it. Or worse, have some devious plot to literally drag us to Hell.
So that's my example, what other mythologies should we in the Guild know about/research. Why?
