Contrary to public opinion, your writing is not about you. Or at least...it shouldn't be.
For years I have been struggling with the concept of representation, whether that be racial, religious, or simply just personality mirroring. Must I see myself in every story? In fact, what does that even mean to see yourself in a story? Can we not go beyond the bounds of race and religion to relate to more fundamental traits: Courage, Love, Justice, Revenge, Jealousy.
