The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (Movie Review)

The Return of the King is a stunning conclusion to the trilogy, and the extended edition adds so much more depth to the story. An epic adventure of good against evil, a story of the power of friendship and individual courage, and the heroic quest to pave the way for the emergence of mankind.

The soundtrack, background, narrating and lore is exceptional.

Frodo, of course, wouldn’t have made it all the way to Mount Doom without Sam—he’s truly the backbone of the duo, always there to pick up the pieces when Frodo is at his lowest. I absolutely hate Denethor—he’s such a frustrating character, and Faramir’s tragic arc makes me feel so bad for him, especially during the battle of Osgiliath where they just get slaughtered.

That one line at the end, “You bow to no one”, was such a powerful moment in the film. I definitely got a little emotional in that scene. The Return of the King (Extended Edition) is a masterpiece that ...

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Movie Review)

The Two Towers was a great sequel in this franchise! It builds a great battle scene throughout the movie and gives us an epic battle scene for an entire hour. From the starting it builds itself and gives us more unexpected moments. It shows how the ring is affecting Frodo, the environment of a war, and journey of other characters, their story. And the relationship that builds between characters is also remarkable.

I felt surprised about Gandalf’s return as Gandalf the White. Andy Serkis did so well in doing Gollum’s voice and the CGI was amazing!

The choreography of the battle, the visual effects, the pacing, acting, cinematography, and music, all work together in perfection to achieve grand filmmaking. The battles of Helms Deep and Isengard are truly breathtaking.

Peter Jackson's "The Two Towers" is one wonderful interpretation of the epic story.

Fan Film Lawsuites?
Fantasy News

As you know, Warner Brothers announced that it will be making a film called The Hunt for Gollum, directed by Andy Serkis and produced by Peter Jackson.

But…why does that title sound familiar? I was talking with a few friends about it when the story broke and someone mentioned that there was a fan film of the same name on YouTube.

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly: More Fantasy and Sci-fi Show
Fantasy News

So this week has been a wild one for fans of sci-fi and fantasy. Three trailers. Three shows. And three vastly different responses. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, the trailer for Rings of Power S2, House of the Dragon S2, and a new spin-off series Dune: Prophecy, all dropped this week. Which offers a unique (and probably intentional) opportunity to compare the three pieces, and their subsequent shows.

They're Making a Gollum Movie?!!
Fantasy News

So…this is not just a headline. A few days ago, Warner Brothers announced a new slate of Lord of the Rings Movies, the first of which will be The Hunt for Gollum (an animated series which predates the LOTR timeline by 200 years will also be made called The War for the Rohirrim

Yes. I’m as confused as the rest of you. Does this mean more garbage like Rings of Power? Maybe…though not from the same source. It would be too long and, frankly, unnecessary to describe the strange division of copyright between Amazon and Warner Bros. Suffice it to say, Warner Bros. owns the rights to the main timelines about the actual characters. Amazon owns the rights to a prologue.

Now, I’m as annoyed as the rest of you. They are making more Harry Potter, more Lord of the Rings, a freaking Mufasa movie?! What happened to original Hollywood stories?
